First socials details [Posted 03.10.05]

TRAMPOLINING
The first tramp social is to be held on Monday 3rd October. The club will be meeting at the Hyde Park pub at 7pm. It is themed "Grab a Granny". Not as violent as it sounds - it basically means that younger members grab an "older " member as a drinking buddy for the mini bar crawl ending at Halo. For more details contact Erin the tramp social sec on 07841117030.

GYMNASTICS
The first Gym social will take place on Monday 10th October. The club is meeting at the University Parkinson steps at 6:15pm. We will all walk down to The Courtyard as a group where there will be a specially reserved gymnastics section and a lovely Barbeque for all paying members. The barbeque costs £6 per head and must be paid by 9am Wednesday 5th October by attaching a cheque to the Gymnastics noticeboard upstairs in the union building. Remember to include your name and the word "Gymnastics" on the back of the cheque. Don't pin cash (Duh!). All non-paying members will unfortunately not be entitled to food but are welcome to join us in the reserved area for drinks. Following the grub we will work our way through some nearby pubs and bars before ending up at Bondi Beach Club at 11pm. Guestlist entry will be £7 ALL YOU CAN DRINK. Yes, drinks really are all inclusive.
So, one excellent night, several happy bank managers. Sorted ! Any questions give Chris a ring on 07787887607

BUSA Gymnastics Competition - National Sports Centre, Lileshall [Posted 15.03.05]

Someone else is going to have to write something heartfelt here because I am no good at it. That's not my job anyway, I just make sure you people can read this.

Anyway, overall the trip to Lileshall was very successful. Unfortunately no medals were blessed with the privilege of traveling back to Leeds University but there was a definite improvement in the performance of all the gymnasts at both team and individual levels.

See the Competition page for a link to the BUSA Gymnastics site and visit the Photo Gallery for some wonderful snaps of the event.

Gym sessions !!!!!! [Posted 24.10.04]

Gym sessions have been taking place both Saturday and Sunday for the past 2 weeks. Times have been varied and the sessions have been relatively short at only an hour each. Longer sessions are being fought for by our Captain Chantal as you read this very page !

Next Saturday's session will begin at 1730 (half past five!) and will hopefully last until 1900 (7pm!!!!!). Sunday's session will remain 8-9. Arrive early and be ready-to-rumble as the clock strikes!!

The format for the last few weeks has been 20 minutes of warm up followed by the beginners and advanced gymnasts being split into separate groups. The advanced gymnasts are currently working on the initial phases of competition routine choreography and the beginners have been working in a variety of relevant teaching areas.

Tuesday's Social Update [Posted 17.10.04]

Right, thought i'd mention the social here as well, that way more people are likely to notice it, and I supose it deserves it's place in the 'News' page anyway.

The social will take place from 10pm onwards after the trampolning training session (which finishes 9.30pm). We will either meet at Barracuda in town or walk down from the sports hall as a group. It's up to you which you do really. Barracuda do £1 a drink plus I think there is a £1 entry fee, I might be wrong. Anyway, that's a good deal if I ever saw one, even if the beer is watery. We will then drunkenly stagger down to Space near the Corn exchange where we will have a great night getting even more drunk on 80p Vodka shots and £1 bottle of such and such.

That's it, hope you can all make it !

See you there.

Wheeeeeeeey!! There's gonna be a gym session - Sunday 17th October [Posted 14.10.04]

Hey, news just in from the gymnastics club captain....

There WILL BE GYM TRAINING THIS SUNDAY (17th October) between 8 and 9 only. It's only an hour for now but it's better than nothing right?

For those that don't know how to get there click here to be taken to a map and some directions to the Beckett Park campus. As far as I know there are no plans to meet at the Parkie steps and travel together but that can always be arranged. Check your e-mails for updates.

Three-legged social event - Thursday 7th October [Posted 05.10.04]

Hi everyone!

I know we haven't had our first session yet however that doesn't mean we can't have a good night out and meet all the new members of the club.
There is a social planned for this thursday night (7th October) joint with the trampolining club and it would be great if you could all come along.
These are the details......

Time: 6pm
Place: Start at the Hyde Park pub ( in hyde park!) for a bit of a pub crawl and end up in Bar Risa in town.
Other details: This is all going to be done attached to someone else!! Yes a 3 legged night out!!

The plan is to attach an old member to a new member so everyone gets to know each other.
We should be in the first pub for quite a bit to wait for everyone but if you do come later we'll be in one of the pubs along the main road from hyde park into town (library, packhorse, eldon......)

I hope you can all make it and I look forward to seeing you all there.
If there are any changes I'll email you but it should stay the same!

See ya Thursday

Web site makeover [Posted 24.09.04]

I told Sil I wouldn't change the web site much as it was good as it was. Unfortunately I couldn't really understand the whole aspect of editing websites using Macromedia Dreamweaver so I started a fresh one. It took me a while and it's still crappy but it's better than not having one at all I suppose. Look forward to more photos and up to date information of forthcoming events as well as results of competitions (and nights out).

If any member of either Gymnastics or Trampolining would like something relevant mentioned on this web site then please do not hesitate to con
